Tour program: Day 1
City sightseeing tour of Cheboksary.
Bus-and-walking tour of the historical part of Cheboksary. During the excursion, we will learn why in the Middle Ages the city was called Veda Suvar and what is hidden at the bottom of the bay. Why Cheboksary is called the pearl of the Volga region and the “Venice of the Volga”. We will listen to the fountain and walk along old streets to the oldest church and the former prison, hear love stories from the century before last that led to the appearance of historic mansions. We will learn the meaning of the majestic Monument to the Mother Patroness.
Departure to the ethnocomplex “Yasna” (28 km)
Excursion on the bus: unique features of the Chuvash region, a brief historical overview from antiquity to the present day. The story of the Bulgar-Chuvash Izhik (late 13th – early 14th century). The history of the sacred Shorkinskaya oak grove.
Ethnographic excursion: “The Magic Clearing of the Ancient Chuvash.
Place of power — the Kiremet oak.”
Chuvash gods and heroes in the wooden sculptures of the ethnographic complex. Features of the Chuvash national costume. Trees in the worldview of our ancestors. Trees as relatives. Visit to the lasha — the brewery, exclusive household items.
Natural monument of the Chuvash Republic — the Kiremet oak. Practical session “Making a wish”. Living and dead water. Practical session “The mystery of water”. Visit to the guest courtyard: why voices were never raised in the house, why no one sat on the parents’ bed, and why there were no divorces in families. We will solve the “Riddles of grandmother’s chest”.

Sightseeing tour of the town of Mariinsky Posad
Theatrical multimedia excursion “Along the old streets of Posad”
These are legends and stories of the old town, merchant houses, churches, and striking views in a light, engaging format. During the excursion, we will walk along the old streets of Mariinsky Posad and meet local merchants and townspeople. We will taste water from a holy spring and visit the Trinity Cathedral. We will visit the house of the merchant Sosnin and see the maid’s room.
Culinary show “Sbiten in Posad style”
Anna Ivanovna Sosnina, a second-guild merchant’s wife, using the multimedia presentation “Sbiten in Posad Style”, will расскажет about the history of this ancient drink and the methods of its preparation. She will explain what makes sbiten from Mariinsky Posad special. She will speak in detail about the herbs, roots, and spices that give the drink its distinctive aroma. Together with the colorful merchant’s wife, we will embark on an engaging gastronomic journey through the history of Mariinsky Posad. Then we will taste sbiten with confectionery products from LLC “Khlebokombinat Marposadsky”.
