Tour program: Day 1
7:00 – railway station, Cheboksary
9:00 – Meeting at the railway station in Kanash. City sightseeing tour
9:45 – Mokra railway bridge (Kanash district, village of Mokry, 93 km)
The Mokra railway bridge is one of the most beautiful and mysterious landmarks of the Chuvash Republic. The structure impresses with its monumentality and grandeur: an arched construction, massive decorated columns, and vertical partitions acting as stiffening ribs. The site evokes a medieval atmosphere, as such viaducts were typical of that era, although this bridge was built in the first half of the 20th century.

13:00 – Sightseeing tour of Alatyr
Alatyr is one of the oldest cities in the Chuvash Republic, founded in 1552. Its historic center preserves architectural landmarks from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Walking tour of ancient Alatyr: merchant houses of the Popov, Kashigin, Shigaev, Solovyov, and Abramson families; the mansion of townsmen Skorobogatov and Novikov; the Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist; the bell tower of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (1779) — the symbol of Alatyr; the Holy Trinity Monastery (1584).
14:30 – Excursion to the Alatyr Local History Museum Visit to exhibitions of numismatics, printed materials, household objects, and ethnography.
15:30 – Departure to Cheboksary

9:00 – Sightseeing tour of Cheboksary
Bus-and-walking tour of the historical center. We will learn why in the Middle Ages the city was called Veda Suvar and what lies hidden at the bottom of the bay. Why Cheboksary is called the pearl of the Volga region and the “Venice of the Volga”. We will listen to the fountain, walk along old streets to the oldest church and the former prison, hear love stories of the 19th century, and learn the meaning of the Monument to the Mother Patroness.
9:20 – Visit to the Museum of Tractor History
A unique museum in Russia occupying 1,500 square meters. The collection includes 36 rare wheeled and tracked tractors, many operational, and 500 scale models from the early and mid-20th century. The museum fund holds over 5,000 rare items.
10:30 – Walk through the Victory Memorial Park, located on a high bank of the Volga in Cheboksary. Monument of Military Glory with Eternal Flame, Memorial Alley, monuments to international soldiers, Chechnya victims, Chernobyl liquidators, Chapel of St. John, cascade fountain, Alley of Heroes, and military equipment museum.

Grades 5–6: "What our grandfathers carried to victory"
Interactive session introducing a WWII soldier’s kit bag. Participants examine its contents: tobacco pouch, canteen, rations, and uniform items, comparing Soviet and German equipment. Practice packing a Red Army kit bag.
Grades 7–8: "Feel like a soldier"
Interactive experience where participants symbolically walk wartime roads, receive a soldier’s medallion insert, explore exhibits, read frontline letters, assemble a supply parcel, and write a triangular letter. The session concludes by reflecting on how many soldiers never returned.
Grade 9: "Quest for the treasure of the Efremov merchants"
Museum quest through the merchant quarter and Efremov mansions. The Efremov dynasty played a major role in Cheboksary trade. Legends say they discovered the treasure of Yemelyan Pugachev.
